The Historic Dockyard, Chatham

One of our favourite days out in Kent! The dockyard is huge (over 80 acres) and even though we’ve been loads of times we still discover new things every visit! Chatham dockyards was a working site for over 400 years, but is now a museum site filled with real life ships and submarines that kids can explore. Everything is hands on and interactive, with seasonal displays and exhibitions. There’s a new trail on, but my kids weren’t interested in doing it - not because the trail isn’t good, it’s simply because they were excited to go on the boats and in the ropery (their favourite part!)
